ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  1. Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures and federal and state laws applicable to the job.
  2. Assist with training and support for new hired employees within the department, and backup others within the department (Level II and Level III).
  3. Proactively identify and communicate internal process improvements in order to optimize efficiencies.
  4. Resolve EIM transactions within the prescribed timeframes and accordance to procedures, and provide business financial centers with assistance as needed.
    • Process Incoming Deposit Return Items.
    • Review Stop Payment suspect matches.
    • Resolve invalid account number Nonpost.
    • Review and verify daily EIM reports for accuracy.
  5. Process and retrieve EARNS notifications.
  6. Perform EIM End-of-Day processing and submit outgoing returns to FRB.
  7. Generate and sort FraudLink reports, and assigning exception items for review.
  8. Identify potential fraud items and take corrective measures to mitigate the risk and protect the bank and its customers within the prescribed timeframes and accordance to procedures.
  9. Process Positive Pay exceptions and scrubbing.
  10. Forward foreign items (Canadian checks in U.S. dollars/funds) for processing.
  11. Provide, present and promote The Citizen Experience to all external and internal customers.
  12. Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Level I - High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of one year related work experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend documents such as basic system reports and statements. Ability to write correspondence and memos related to position.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using a PC or calculator.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems related to job responsibilities.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have a working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office and other related system software.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL GUIDE FOR EXCEPTION ITEM SPECIALIST

Level III

This is an intermediate level position. The incumbent will develop a working knowledge of a minimum of five of the Essential Duties and Responsibilities.

Salary Range:$20.0000 To 22.1200 Hourly
