Position Summary |
The Facilities and Security Coordinator is responsible to the
MLC Facilities and Security Manager for assisting with the management of facilities operations and building security for the University of Georgia Libraries' facilities, with a primary focus on the Miller Learning Center. The coordinator enforces conduct policies, monitors alarm systems, security cameras, and other related systems, and serves as a resource and authority to the student security workforce. This position also monitors building maintenance and projects by communicating with staff in the Facilities Management Division (
FMD) and other outside contractors, prepare areas for renovation and/or relocation, and assist with the coordination of special events and projects as they arise. This position will interact regularly with key personnel, such as the building partners (
CTL and
EITS), Campus Reservations,
UGA Police Department, and Environmental Safety Division. This position upholds the mission of the
MLC and its internal partnerships with
EITS and
CTL by establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with regular communication and collaboration.
The standard work schedule for this position is 10hrs/day Saturday-Tuesday. This schedule may be modified as necessary to ensure coverage and accommodate changes in building hours between semesters. |

- Coordinates security operations of the Miller Learning Center by enforcing procedures and policies that promote a secure environment, monitoring and maintaining surveillance equipment, programing key cards, by communicating effectively with security and library workforces regarding various issues and changes, and liaising with the UGA police department as necessary.
