Senior Solutions Architect - Banking and Integration

FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

  • Analyze business requirements to design scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectural solutions.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and technical teams, to align solutions with organizational objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and design leadership for application, integration, and infrastructure projects.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and technologies to meet project and enterprise goals.
  • Create high-level architecture diagrams, detailed designs, and technical documentation.
  • Lead solution reviews to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and technology roadmaps.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across projects.
  • API Governance
  • Develop, implement, and enforce API governance standards, guidelines, and best practices to ensure high-quality, reusable, and secure APIs.
  • Define API lifecycle processes, including design, versioning, documentation, and deprecation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure APIs align with business objectives and technical standards.
  • Manage API cataloging and discovery using tools such as API gateways, portals, or registries.
  • Define and monitor key API performance indicators (KPIs) to measure adoption, performance, and quality.
  • Advocate for and implement API-first design principles across the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security, regulatory, and industry standards for APIs.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • College degree in Computer Sciences or a related field and at least five years of developed expertise in application analysis, systems development, systems design or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5 years of experience with major technology platforms and variety of technologies (for example IBM mainframe/Unix/Windows, DBMS, programming environments, etc.) including strong experience in software development and design techniques

  • Experience with operational/ technology strategic and architecture development, preferably within a financial services organization

  • Working knowledge of project management and development approaches

  • Strong working knowledge of the banking industry

  • Strong technical skills with key support applications, (i.e., Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio)

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain a high level of credibility with all levels of internal and external customers.

  • Superior presentation skills.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume

  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Outlook.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of banking industry processes and the types of systems used to support those processes across the Enterprise.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines

  • Ability to operate related equipment to perform the essential job functions

  • Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions

  • Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions

  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 10 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an "undue hardship" then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
