How You'll Help Transform Healthcare:

Collaboratively shape, create, and revise all scientific communications pieces for print (e.g., journal articles, patient education documents, grant reports and applications), visual (e.g., educational videos, meeting materials [slide shows, poster presentations), and digital (e.g., webpage, social media) outlets.

  • Providing developmental editing, substantive editing, copyediting, proofreading, word-for-word checking, and final reads as appropriate during the project life cycle
  • Reviewing content, grammar, usage, style, and format to ensure accuracy, correctness, consistency, readability, and adherence to professional and industry standards
  • Obtaining permissions for reuse of copyrighted material (e.g., text, illustrations)
  • Evaluating developing projects for their accessibility to the intended audience (e.g., general public, broad scientific, medical specialty) and fit for the planned use (e.g., education, information exchange, fundraising)
  • Supporting and expediting the iterative publication process as the production manager (e.g., submitting manuscripts through online portals; interacting with journal staff manuscript editors and editors-in-chief; facilitating responses to reviewer comments)
What We Require:

Education: Masters required. Doctoral degree preferred

Experience: Postdoctoral research experience is required. > 5 years' experience in medical and scientific communication.

Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Professional certification medical/scientific writing and editing (e.g. AMWA, BELS)

Other Minimum Qualifications:

  • Skilled in English grammar, style, and usage rules; Microsoft Office suite; and digital editing (e.g., Adobe Acrobat Pro; Microsoft Track Changes, Comments)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and juggle competing client priorities
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
