Job Summary

The incumbent will be assigned to the Citywide Case Management Forensics Program. The incumbent will work half-time in the Full Service Partnership (FSP) program and half-time in the ZSFG-Psychiatric Emergency Services (PES) program. In the FSP program, the incumbent will work with the Behavioral Health Court with dually diagnosed individuals, providing comprehensive assessment, crisis intervention, case management, individual and group therapy, and substance abuse services. FSP clients will receive their mental health and substance abuse services at the 1263 Mission site. Clinician will be assisting clients in meeting their needs and will make referrals as appropriate. In the PES program, the incumbent will work with clients who are deemed too aggressive or disruptive to be seen in the outpatient clinics. Clients will receive their mental health and substance abuse services at ZSFG-PES. The clinician will provide continuous, comprehensive mental health services including thorough referral screening and risk assessments, individual therapy, case management, crisis intervention and outreach when safe to do so. These programs are part of the ZSFG Department of Psychiatry's comprehensive effort to treat high risk clients in the community and to reduce unnecessary use of institutional care.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $37.56 - $50.31 (Hourly Rate).

Department of Psychiatry - Citywide Case Management - PES

Required Qualifications

• CSW I: Masters degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited university and registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as An Associate Clinical Social Worker (ASW) or Intern Marriage Family Therapist (IMFT) or equivalent experience/training
• CSWII: Masters degree in social work, psychology or related field from an accredited university and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science or equivalent experience/training
• Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others. Ability to work in a high stress, high volume area and work well under pressure and with deadlines. Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately, and be detailed oriented. Able to efficiently prepare written summaries of activities, set priorities and complete reports within required timeframes. Knowledge of medical and/or psychiatric terminology
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work as a team member in a culturally diverse setting
• Able to lift 50lbs and climb stairs
• Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
• A preliminary job offer and assignment may be extended pending successful background clearance.
• An understanding of mental health issues and sensitivity toward mental health clients
• Ability to work with clients and program staff from diverse cultural and social class backgrounds
• Ability to obtain San Francisco County Jail Clearance through the San Francisco Sheriff's Department
• Ability to work with clients who present with aggression and/or assaultive history

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years working with severely mentally ill adults, the homeless and dual diagnosed populations
• One year experience doing community-based case management and the ability to do outreach including to SRO hotels
• One year experience working with individuals actively involved in the criminal justice system
• Prior related UC experience
