The Position
2025 Summer Intern - Neuroscience Department Department Summary The Neuroscience Department at Genentech is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to develop state-of-the-art iPSC-derived complex models to investigate novel cell-cell interactions and responses related to neurodegenerative disease. You will fully utilize a variety of cellular, molecular, and genetic techniques in human cell culture, depending on levels of prior expertise. This internship position is located in South San Francisco, on-site. The Opportunity The selected candidate will contribute to a project focused on understanding the interaction between human iPSC-derived neurons and glial cells in the context of neurodegeneration. This role involves establishing a scalable neuron/glial co-culture assay, utilizing high-throughput confocal imaging and various biochemical, omics, and functional assays as readouts. Through this work, the candidate will develop a highly relevant industry-level skill set in advanced cellular and molecular techniques. Program Highlights

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location ofCalifornia is $45.00 per hour.Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
