Summary/Objective

Manage the manufacturing engineering team to support the execution of operational performance by reducing equipment downtime, process failures, and improve productivity. Develop, recommend, and implement approved capital programs to support the profit/strategic plans and cost out goals. Drive continuous process improvement efforts through the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools with the lean coordinators. Guide, direct, maintain and monitor all activities associated with the successful application of Lippert's manufacturing excellence team to deliver on planned operational metrics.

  1. Plans and deploys training to support the plant's goals and objectives in manufacturing excellence, lean manufacturing, and quality assurance.
  2. Study, investigates, and recommends new or leading edge technologies, methods, tools and procedures on the fields of manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and continuous improvement to proactively address changes in the business environment.
  3. Lead the initiatives of the operation as the Management Representative in the development, implementation and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the organization, with all the documentation required. This includes providing advanced quality planning support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services.
  4. Develop and analyze statistical data and product / process specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability requirements for the finished product.
  5. Manage the performance and provide career development opportunities to all the team members within the manufacturing engineering and Lean function of the organization.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are decided by the hiring manager.

Travel

Travel is required for this position and roughly 25% of the travel will be to out of state plants.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
  3. Minimum 3 years of experience as a leader of people
  4. Minimum 2 years of experience implementing lean principles

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering
  2. Green or Black Belt certification

Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
