Description

AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. In 2019, the co-op launched its Dinner Bell Creamery brand and accompanying Co-op Crafted promise, highlighting more than 50 years of dairy farm families partnering with skilled buttermakers and cheesemakers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time:

Talent Acquisition



  • Develops and implements talent acquisition strategies to meet current and anticipated staffing needs.
  • Manages the recruitment, selection, travel arrangements and onboarding of out-of-area workers.
  • Partners with HR managers to ensure all positions have clear and accurate job descriptions.
  • Partners with the HR team to assist with Affirmative Action requirements.
  • Assist in organizing, attending, and managing recruitment events and career fairs.


Employee Engagement



  • Promotes employee advocacy by engaging with employees across the organization.
  • Responsible for leading engagement strategies and employment brand initiatives.
  • Oversees and coordinates DEIB efforts across the co-op, partnering with Human Resources, Communications, Operations and Leadership.
  • Partners with team members, leaders, and stakeholders to develop an understanding of people issues and challenges, identify the problems to solve using data.


Learning & Development



  • Assists in the development of assessments of individual and organizational needs, implements and facilitates learning programs and solutions to create a high performance, engaged workforce and achieve the overall business strategy
  • Supports the delivery of career development programs across the company to help guide employees on pathways to develop and navigate their careers
  • Assists with administering the learning management system
  • Creates engaging content to facilitate learning, utilizing videos, PowerPoints and other media.
  • Provides data-driven insights on the overall engagement, satisfaction, and effectiveness of learning solutions


Human Resources



  • Maintains all Human Resources related records, including separate file systems for personnel records, employment selection process records, I-9 forms (IRCA), affirmative action/equal employment related records, records related to complaint investigations and employee performance issues. Ensures confidentiality and limited access according to procedure.
  • Assists with all Human Resource functions in areas including but not limited to answering HR questions, benefit enrollment, entering and processing new hires, changes and termination information, background checks, performance reviews, forms, policy updates and conducting stay and exit interviews.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, addressing complaints; resolving problems and serve as back up support to HR team.
  • Support and participate in internal HR audits.


Communications



  • Works with the communication and marketing department on internal communication projects.
  • Manages internal communication channels
  • Completes verbal and written translations (English/Spanish)


Other: Other duties as assigned.



  • This role requires about 25% travel to various locations. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional overnight stays and flexible scheduling to accommodate travel needs.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE



  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, preferred with emphasis in human resources, business management, or related field.
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Three to five years human resources or sales experience.
  • Maintain a valid drivers' license.
