General Summary of Position:

This position requires a combination of strong technical, business, leadership, and communication skills. The successful candidate will have project management job experience, as well as an understanding of fiber optic design, engineering and construction processes, bid management, negotiation, and reporting. The position requires an independent self-starter who can develop strong relationships with Granite's REIT partners. The Grid Design and Procurement Manager will proactively engage with Granite Management at the management Levels and above and work across Business Units and Support teams to assure internal and customer satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designing and developing inside fiber optic systems and networks.
• Conducting site surveys to determine the best installation paths and techniques.
• Creating detailed schematics for fiber optic and ethernet systems, ensuring compliance with standards and customer specifications.
• Secures quotes from our optical vendors, equipment, writes scopes of works for installation of equipment
• Manage scope and mitigate risk across projects
• Works with Project Managers to effectively deliver service requirements to customers Updating and maintaining project documentation and system records.
• Training technical staff and users when necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: College Degree preferred
• Experience: 10+ years' experience with project management required
• Telecommunications industry experience required
• Knowledge and experience with telecommunications network technologies, protocols, and operations
• Able to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in controlled situations. Deal with some abstract but mostly concrete variables
• Demonstrated ability to plan, develop and coordinate multiple projects
• Proven clear, informative, persuasive, and collaborative verbal and written communication skills
• Must have the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Must possess strong work ethic in supporting customer needs, responding promptly and consistently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT) from the Fiber Optic Association (FOA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or similar network-specific certifications
• Proficiency in telecom design software and tools, such as AutoCAD and Visio
• Salesforce experience
