Description

LinQuest Corporation is seeking a Military Air Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team in supporting the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) on location in Reston, Virginia. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

The applicant will contribute to an exciting project to advance Department of Defense (DoD) capability to conduct mission-level modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of complex, adaptive kill webs. The selected individual will serve on a broader multi-disciplinary team of operational military and intelligence community subject matter experts, operations research analysts, and modelers conducting sponsor-directed studies and analyses using an environment and MS&A tool being developed by DARPA.

Applicant must have strong knowledge of current and emerging operational requirements and capabilities of the Combatant Commands, Services, the Joint Staff and other warfighting commands, as well as operational and tactical experience with beyond-visual range air-to-air and air-to-surface tactics, Air or Integrated Tasking Orders (ATO or ITO), as well as with joint and service military planning of the same.

Applicant will develop Blue Joint Air Operations concepts of operations (CONOPS) and incorporate emerging warfighting concepts into a joint, all-domain modeling & simulation environment. Applicant will assist with the development of behaviors and decision structures for simulation execution, and with interpretation of simulation outputs. Applicant may also lead small teams or tasks in support of the broader overall effort. The ideal candidate will have practical experience using AFSIM or similar mission-level M&S software.

Required Skills and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM Discipline, plus 12 years of experience
  • Strong technical background with strong aptitude and willingness to learn MBSE diagramming and M&S scripting techniques
  • Military Joint Qualified Officer (JQO) designation
  • Ability to quicky adjust to new organization, technological and employment constructs for planning and CNOPS development.
  • Expert knowledge/experience in Joint warfighting capabilities, advanced weapons, current and future operational concepts
  • Ability to adjust quickly to new organizational, technological, and employment constructs for planning and CONOPs development
  • Excellent project management and/or Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP) skills
  • Ability to think creatively and function as part of a high-performing team
  • Ability to coordinate with government and external contractor stakeholders to identify and solve a variety of problems and to clarify objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • US Citizenship
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with current SCI eligibility
  • Eligible for Special Access Program (SAP) access


Preferred Skills and Experience:



  • Experience supporting analytical studies of military operations
  • Strong background in Joint all-domain operations including air (at a minimum), maritime, land, space, and/or cyber
  • Working level knowledge of AFSIM; familiarity with NGTS, ITASE, or another mission-level M&S environment
  • Working level knowledge of behavior modeling in AFSIM, NGTS, or another similar mission-level M&S framework
  • General Knowledge of MBSE tools such as CAMEO or Innolate
  • Specific working level knowledge of behavior and BMC2 modeling in AFSIM, NGTS, or other similar mission level M&S framework
  • Practical MBSE or technical diagramming experience
  • Master's Degree in a STEM discipline plus 12 years of experience


Compensation:

The salary for this position ranges from approximately $155,000 to $175,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
