The Position

Genentech People Experience Partner - Welcome to Genentech Onboarding Program

Purpose

As part of Genentech People Experience (PEx), the PEx Partner role works collaboratively within the PEx function and across functions to ensure Genentech is the place where people want to work, thrive, and make a positive impact on society. Owns, improves, and/or supports specific solutions (initiatives, projects, programs) and/or People Experience journey framework components (personas, journey stages, elements, moments) that contribute to achieving PEx function outcomes. PEx Partners drive and lead the planning and execution of internally-focused solutions from initiation through delivery and measurement. Additionally, consults with people in our partner and business functions to make connections, identify gaps, align outcomes, and reduce duplication of efforts and offerings in pursuit of our ambitions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborative Solution Ownership:

    • Own, lead and/or support specific people experience solutions (projects, programs, initiatives, portals, and/or operations) and/or journey framework items (personas, journey stages, elements, moments) to deliver desired Genentech people experience outcomes and ambitions.

    • Use customer and people experience practices and methodologies to assess needs and develop, manage, and/or implement solutions that achieve people experience outcomes in collaboration with partners in the cross-functional people experience ecosystem.

    • Work with data insights colleagues to establish metrics and measure the effectiveness of solutions - make adjustments as needed; design experiments, tests, and conduct retros to drive rapid iteration.

    • Leverage already existing offerings to meet identified needs and, when designing new solutions, design for scalability across the Roche network, and recommend sunsetting the solution if it is determined to not achieve the desired outcomes.

    • Lead/facilitate people experience-related forums and meetings. Design, manage, and/or implement people experience events and activities.

    • Build a sense of what is happening externally at other organizations, in the industry, etc. in their area of ownership.

    • Work inclusively. Involve people from other functions on program/project work as needed. Select and partner with outside consultants/vendors as appropriate.

    • Provide program management for assigned programs including vendor management, content maintenance, metric gathering, process improvements, logistics coordination, technology support, and be a point of contact for inquiries.

    • Provide updates to team members, stakeholders, and leaders as required.

  • Relationship Management, Connecting, and Consulting:

    • Maintain strong connections and positive relationships with team members, partners, and stakeholders to co-create, get input, implement, and assess effectiveness of people experience solutions.

    • Consult with team members, people experience ecosystem partners and business functions to make connections, determine gaps in the PEx Inventory, ensure alignment of priorities, and minimize duplication of efforts.

  • Project and Budget Management:

    • Build and communicate a project plan for areas of ownership and assigned projects in partnership with relevant stakeholders.

    • Manage projects and/or lead people experience efforts from conception through completion, ensuring timely completion of work within budget. Identify risks, project impact, resource needs, and track overall status of projects and escalate if appropriate.

    • Establish, monitor and review appropriate success metrics and maintain project status in project tracking mechanisms as agreed by team members.

    • Own, develop, and maintain budgets and accounts for program resources where applicable.

  • Sensing and People Experience Expertise: Leverage data insights, listening techniques, observation methods, and sensing to understand and recommend improvements for owned solutions, important moments in each stage of the employee journey, for each persona in the organization, and for our people experience solutions.

  • Change Management, Marketing, and Communications: After consultation with Change/Communications colleagues, drive communication and change management activities for Genentech People Experience efforts and offerings to ensure optimal and ongoing adoption across the organization. Engage in marketing activities that create awareness of PEx solutions.

  • Learning and Growing : Spend time developing and growing as a customer experience and design thinking professional. Apply learning to our people experience efforts and share learning with colleagues.

Current Focus for This Role - Welcome to Genentech Onboarding Program

  • Ensure new hires at Genentech experience a meaningful, supportive, inspirational, and informational first day through their participation in the Welcome to Genentech onboarding program.

  • Own the Welcome to Genentech onboarding program and, using a design thinking approach, enhance the program where needed to ensure it is achieving program objectives. Monitor and report out on program metrics - and make adjustments to the program based on these metrics.

  • Be available in person on days of Welcome to Genentech to facilitate the session and ensure coordination of various presenters throughout the delivery of the sessions.

  • Partner with all stakeholders who have a part in the implementation of the Welcome to Genentech program to ensure a smooth program delivery and the program achieves its program objectives. Collaborate with the Chief Diversity Office (CDO), IT, People & Culture (P&C), Site Services, and others to ensure an optimal program experience.

  • Establish, monitor, and ensure adherence to the Welcome to Genentech program budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and a minimum of 5 years of related/relevant experience; or an advanced degree with 3 years of equivalent work experience.

  • Experience managing program and project operations and budgets

  • Demonstrated capability in maintaining positive working relationships

  • Team and large group presentation experience

  • Experience with successful program design/development, implementation, and developing/maintaining measures of effectiveness

  • Strong collaboration, communication, influencing, and consulting skills and the ability to work in a matrixed environment is essential

  • Knowledge of customer experience/people experience methodologies

  • Experience in employee engagement, talent management, organization/human resources development, and/or HR business partnering preferred

  • Ability to manage and support project assignments including the ability to manage budgets, contracts, and invoices

You are local to South San Francisco, CA.

*Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is between $113,500 and $210,700. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
