Position Responsibilities

  • Complete all job tasks following written SOP's, GMP's and Zoetis Quality Standards.
  • Verify material received from vendors matches Zoetis specifications per department procedures.
  • Unload material received from vendors and transfers between Kingbird, building 1 and Building 2 warehouses.
  • Move inventory from the receiving areas to bar-coded identified storage locations within the warehouse.
  • Fill, transfer, verify, and return as necessary packaging components and printed material from the warehouse to the production areas as requested by transaction documents or batch records.
  • Transfer packaging components from wooden pallets to plastic pallets.
  • Complete inventory moves transactions using the inventory control system (SAP).
  • Operate various types of material handling equipment for which training and authorization has been completed.
  • Drive company vehicles to predetermined locations to pick up and deliver companies supplies.
  • Assist with the disposal process on material designated for destruction.
  • Assist in handling the recycling of glass, drums, cardboard, etc.
  • Maintain the warehouse and dispensing areas in accordance with the Warehouse Housekeeping guidelines.
  • Issue, verify, transfer, and return as necessary labels, inserts and printed material from the restricted warehouse area to the packaging operations per established SOP's utilizing lockable cages.
  • Transfer and locate labels, inserts and printed material into the high-density storage system and update SAP.
  • Utilize all types of communication (i.e., verbal, phone, e-mail) as required in the daily
    operation of the department.
  • Respond to requests from customers both internal and external for supplies and information.
  • Learn the support of manufacturing departments through the movement of product, raw materials, and supplies in and out of the manufacturing areas.
  • Learn and comply with all SOP's and associated documentation.
  • Learn and demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
  • Learn proper staging and location areas for components and equipment.
  • Understand and comply with all safety programs and procedures; ex. LOTO, MSDS, PPE
  • Demonstrate reliability in attendance and punctuality.
  • Complete daily timecards thoroughly and accurately
  • Learn to document steps accurately and legibly.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the supervisor or lead persons.

Education and Experience

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Language skills - able to read and interpret procedures.
  • Math Skills - ability to apply general math skills.
  • Has a basic understanding of mechanical skills and has used various hand tools.
  • Meets the physical requirements of the job.

PREFERRED CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical school certificate, or 1-2 yrs. college.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with vision systems and robotic fillers.
  • Knowledge of P.C. using Windows based applications.

Technical Skills and Competencies Required

Safety

  • Practice good safety techniques in the manufacturing area., including lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
  • Read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDSs).
  • Properly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required per SOPs, i.e., safety shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, hearing protection, etc.

Decision Making -- Demonstrated ability to:

  • Delegate questionable issues upward.
  • Follow directions either written, or oral.
  • Know when to stop the process for anomalies.
  • Learn to identify "out-of-spec" material.

Process

  • Familiar with production/ process flow.
  • Know proper staging and storage location for supplies and equipment.
  • Learn key terminology associated with Biological Manufacturing.

Communications

  • Communicate effectively with peers and supervisor.
  • Apply appropriate communication techniques for teamwork.

Personal Computer Skills

  • Perform PC tasks.

Physical Position Requirements

  • Apply good lifting techniques.
  • Prolonged periods of standing
  • Will be exposed to routine lifting of 20-40 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Ability to move up and down stairs/ladders.

Work Environment

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals.
  • Exposure to product dust/particulate
  • Exposure to loud noise
