Summary

Mentor and participate on teams in the performance of Utilities maintenance activities within the maintenance processes to ensure safety, quality, and excellence in the performance of work.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS degree and four (4) yeas experience in the craft supervised or HS/GED plus 8 years experience in the craft supervised are required.

Must have demonstrated the competencies necessary to supervise direct reports at an operating Nuclear Power Station. Knowledge and understanding of maintenance processes and applicable regulatory and administrative requirements. Meets or exceeds ANSI 1978 3.1, 4.3.2.

Nuclear requirement:

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.

This is a condition of employment at PVNGS.

Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees.

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage.

This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.

Major Accountabilities

1) Promote employee productivity and morale by demonstrating leadership principals which model the culture. Promote peer leadership, personal accountability and individual empowerment.

2) Accept ownership for and proactively address employee issues in an open and supportive manner.

3) Continuously develop staff through training, coaching and performance evaluation from application of PEP as intended, to instill and anchor ownership and accountability on maintenance teams.

4) Perform and mentor performance of maintenance to support PVNGS Site Maintenance and Modifications Division Strategic Plan.

5) Ensure programs are followed during the performance of work to provide a safe work environment, practicing ALARA principals where applicable.

6) Maintain an atmosphere conducive to self-identification of discrepancies and utilize processes to track and aggressively resolve identified problems.

8) Perform assigned duties and allocate resources to control expenditures at or below budgeted amounts.

9) Accept ownership and accountability for material condition and maintenance processes on assigned physical plant systems and areas.

Plant/FieldRole:

This position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site, due to the nature of work.

Any PVGS employees may be called upon for random Fitness for Duty (FFD) testing during scheduled working hours. Employees, if off-site, must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
