Compensation Grade: P23Compensation Details: Minimum: $82,711.00 - Maximum: $82,711.00 AnnuallyDepartment (OPH) Office of Public HealthJob Description: Responsibilities The Program Coordinator I will work within the Bureau of Vital Records (BVR) to coordinate and/or provide oversight of activities within the Registration, Training and Support Unit. The BVR securely collects, registers, preserves, and provides authorized access to vital events and vital records data. These records provide important legal documentation for the community and serve as an essential surveillance tool to promote public health. The incumbent will be responsible for the following: monitoring the training, guidance and support to local registration districts, clinicians, and other internal/external stakeholders of the electronic registration systems of vital events; identifying opportunities to improve the vital records registration process and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness; developing and maintaining data management standards; monitor the quality of vital records registration services and the management of vital records information to ensure accuracy; manage the registration of delayed births and fetal deaths at the state level; and perform other appropriate related duties. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience in program coordination; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. At least one year of experience must have included supervision of staff and/or program management. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated excellent organization and communication skills. Proficiency in data quality procedures and reporting. At least three years of supervisory experience. At least two years of experience managing a public health program, including implementing training and technical assistance in a government, public health, community-based or clinical setting. Experience working with local registrars, hospitals, funeral directors, federal agencies, and/or state agencies. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required. Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Travel, up to 10% of the time, will be required. This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will not be available.
