Service Center Operator B - Oklahoma City

Position Description:


Ryerson has an opportunity for a Service Center Operator position. As a Service Center Operator you are responsible for ensuring the material meets a customer's expectations by checking the size, finish, and accuracy of the finished product.

Roles and Responsibilities:

* Safety is a priority - you will learn proper safety measures via online and in-person training
* You start the day reviewing production orders then preparing your material for processing
* You will use a crane and/or forklift to move material for outbound shipping
* Check to make sure your machine and station is in working order and identify any issues
* You will keep your work area clean and ensure that all workplace hazards are reported immediately
* All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice

Position Requirements:


* High School Diploma/ GED is required; Associate or Technical Degree is a plus
* 1-3 years supervisory experience in a warehouse setting preferred
* Knowledge of various employment laws (i.e., OHSA) and government regulations (i.e., DOT)
* Knowledge of warehouse machine and equipment operations, experience working with slitting and cut-to-length lines, etc. in a metals warehouse environment is a plus
* Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Demonstrated verbal, written and interpersonal skills
* Understands how to help lead change within a dynamic environment
