This position reports to

Director, HVAC Sales

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to conduct proactive business development aligned with the division's strategy in countries where business conditions require increased attention and focus. Each day, you will provide business support, including expertise in products, applications, solutions, and segment and customer support for the assigned product portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring profitable business growth and sustainable deployment of the division's strategic plan.

This role is contributing to the Motion/Drives/HVAC throughout the US. Main stakeholders are both our internal and external customers.
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Understand and communicate to internal stakeholders Data center general architecture & applications and correlate to ABB LV drive products.
oHyperscale / enterprise/co-location/edge data center / micro data center
oGovernment /healthcare/education/ energy &power / military / high-tech
oUnderstand modularity and scalability of the design
oData center - Generations designs
*Develop and prioritize major potential direct business development opportunity pipeline equal to or greater than $100M for the drives business unit at HVAC Key Accounts:
oUsing both Global and country/customer specific knowledge within ABB and through external sources
oDevelop short- and long-term business plans and actions.
*Understand industry dynamics, decision-making process and decision makers on product specification and buying decisions.
*Understand decision making power for motor and VFD "Approved Vendor List" definitions and inclusion. Positioning ABB as preferred supplier for industry is the ultimate goal.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university / college in a technical field with 8 years of relevant experience or associate's degree with 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience within a complex business environment selling technical products to data centers, EV battery plants, semiconductor manufacturing, or crypto mining preferred
  • Sound knowledge of motor and drive systems and the HVACR market
  • Product and market knowledge in Drives as they relate to HVAC systems and applications
  • Fluent English both spoken and written, good communication skills
  • MS Office and Salesforce
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $92,500 and $171,500 base salary annually plus uncapped commission.
