Responsibilities

The Respiratory Therapist performs all aspects of respiratory care for patients of all ages in critical care, emergency room, med/surg, and nursery. Member of high functioning team performing intubations and education. Position maintains strong autonomy with use of protocols and a valued member of the interdisciplinary health care team. Acts as a resource for staff and students. Provides respiratory care in accordance with MMH policies and procedures; Demonstrates Service Excellence at all time and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be a graduate of an AMA approved 2 or 4 year Respiratory Care program or equivalent, and registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and licensed by the State of Florida as a Respiratory Therapist in good standing.

AHA BLS & ACLS required.

May also be a Certified Respiratory Therapist, credentialed by the NBRC and licensed by the State of Florida.

Must obtain PALS and NRP certification within 90 days of date of hire.

Experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care setting with nursery experience preferred

Must complete annual departmental competency training

Valid Florida RRT or CRT license
