Description

The Process Engineer supports the technical services department and paper production department goals and activities by providing continued analysis, evaluation and optimization of equipment and processes to ensure efficiency and quality. The Process Engineer works directly will superintendents, Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) Management, and overall facility leaders to continuously improve our systems in the areas of safety, quality, production, and cost.

Thisfull-timeposition reports directly to the Sr Manager Technical Services and is located at Liberty Paper's manufacturing plant in Becker, MN.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Continuous Improvement Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily engagement with production concerns and problems. Provides daily CI support in the areas of stock prep, paper machine, and dry end, working closely with superintendents, maintenance, and operators.
  • Assists teams and employees with troubleshooting issues and problems.
  • Continual evaluation and optimization of equipment and processes to ensure both efficiency and quality.
  • Process Analysis Before/After shutdowns and newly modified equipment.
  • Data collection, interpretation and report writing.
  • Commissioning, qualification, and training associated with new process equipment.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing chemical processes.
  • Responsible for leading and/or participating on CI teams.
  • Participates in safety and operational risk assessments.
  • Process chemical optimization efforts.

Process Trial Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Manages chemical authorization of new trial products.
  • Plans and conducts process trials.
  • Works with vendors to procure chemicals and equipment.
  • Trial data analysis and trial summary/report.

Quality Responsibilities

  • Participates in quality incidents including investigation, root cause and corrective actions.
  • Routine Basis Weight/Scanner correlations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • BBE, Paper Science, Chemical or Industrial Engineering degree
  • 3+ Years' experience with the pulp and paper industry

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • PaperMachineProcessKnowledgepreferred
  • Very good computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • High level of initiative and motivation
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written. Ability to share technical ideas and concepts with the public and non-technical personnel
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong teamwork/relationship building skills. Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams
  • Self-motivated

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

The starting base salary range for this position is $75,218 - $94,022 per year. The compensation posted is the anticipated pay for the position at the time of the posting. We may pay above or below posted amount based on several factors, including, but not limited to education and/or certifications, skills, experience, or work location. Some positions may qualify for additional compensation in the form of bonuses.
