OB Technician Certified

Job Description:

FT Day shift 4 - 10 hour shifts

7p- 5:30a

The OB Technologist (OBT) purpose includes primary scrub person/assistant for operative procedures; may perform a variety of direct and indirect patient care to designated patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse

Job Duties

• Assists the RN with circulating duties as needed to carry out the implementation of appropriate interventions; works with circulator and other room staff to perform post-case cleaning duties.
• Primary duties include scrubbing, setting up cases, and passing instruments or assisting physicians.
• Cut suture material as directed by surgeon and apply electrocautery to clamp on bleeders under the direct supervision of the surgeon.
• Prepare and organize the sterile instruments and equipment for procedures, prepare sutures and sterile solutions.

Qualifications

• OB Technologists must graduate from a Surgical Tech program or have comparable military training. Certification is required
