Job Description |
Utilize GSFC-owned resources to provide shuttle service in support of NASA-8 administrative aircraft, as well as the Management Education Center (MEC) programs, the NASA/Wallops Public Affairs (PAO), Equal Employment Offices (EEO), various NASA/Wallops divisions, Navy Public Affairs Office, and Navy Facility Management Vision.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Operates various buses, trucks, motor coaches, and other types of small to medium sized vehicles and equipment. * Performs operator inspections, maintenance, and servicing of vehicles operated. * Maintains operator checklist, and maintenance, service, and usage logs. * Drives vehicle to destination, applying knowledge of state, local, and federal driving regulations, and roads in the area. * Maintains telephone or radio contact dispatch to receive instructions, or report delays or accidents. * Inspects vehicle equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, refills reservoirs, and reports all equipment failures to the dispatcher. * Performs emergency road repairs such as changing tires. * Assists in loading and unloading of passengers and cargo as required. * Performs after-hours, weekend, and emergency call-back services as required. * Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications |
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's license (CDL). * Must produce proof of a clean driving record for the last five years. * Three years of experience operating vehicles of this class. * Must be capable of reading and understanding operating procedures, route schedules, timetables, and traffic regulations. * High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
* Must meet the physical requirements of the position such as vision and hearing requirements, and possess current Department of Transportation Examination Card, if applicable.
Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements
* Must be a U.S. Citizen. * Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. * Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions. * Must be able to successfully complete a background screening. * Must possess or be able to obtain a public trust clearance prior to employment and maintain public trust clearance for the duration of employment.

Rate of Pay/Benefits
Hourly Rate: $22.56
Benefits Information
This position is an on-call position. Employees will accrue one hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked.
