Starting pay rate: $40.43 per hour
$1.00/hour additional shift premium for working on 2nd or 3rd shift

Shifts:
We require that you are flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays. *Current need is on 2nd shift.
2nd shift work schedule: 2:30pm - 10:30pm
3rd shift work schedule: 10:30pm - 6:30am
Schedule assignments upon hire are determined by plant needs. Once your training period begins, you will be assigned to 1st shift for approximately 4 weeks, then moved to 2nd shift. You will be eligible to bid on other schedules, shifts and jobs when they are posted.
Regular schedule is 8-hour shifts. Mandatory overtime could be weekly (scheduled for up to 12 hours/day, Monday through Sunday), daily (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and/or weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts).
Summary:
This position performs the necessary welding and fabrication plant wide. Main responsibility is to repair mobile racks utilized in the drying process of licorice which is critical in the Food Manufacturing Facility. Candidates must be willing to work various assignments in different work areas as instructed by supervisor. Other requirements include but not limited to: Effectively communicate with other employees, accept full responsibility for all safety procedures as stated in the JSA (Job Safety Analysis) as well as demonstrating the Hershey Values.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
- On a daily basis, repair mobile board racks, maintaining strict design tolerance.
- Perform other basic welding and fabrication tasks as directed by maintenance supervisor.
- Safely use hoists and hand & power tools. (Wrenches, Sockets, Electric Drills, Grinders, Sanders, etc.)
- Make up "Bill of Materials" as required.
- Maintain records of racks repaired. Review records and identify trends for problems that may need attention.
- Maintain the area, tools and problems that may need attention
- Service, clean, and inspect equipment periodically following established PMs (Preventative Maintenance)
- Team player - must be willing to communicate and cooperate with co-worker for job and/or job duties.
- Follow all general safety precautions as well as procedures stated in the JSA (Job Safety Analysis)
- Work performed in a plant environment subject to GMP's, Dress and grooming.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
- Solid understanding of MIG, TIG and Arc weld techniques
- Successfully complete all safety required training
- Pass the Nocti Welding and Hands on Testing
- Basic computer skills
- Possesses basic mechanical aptitude applicable to a manufacturing environment
- Must be able to read and write English
- Must be able to perform basic math calculations

Work Environment:
- Work performed within climate controlled food manufacturing environment and in maintenance shop area
Physical Demand:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Use of hands, wrists, elbows to use hands tools to do welding and other repairs
- Bend, squat, reach to perform welding and other duties
- Visual acuity to perform welding
- Must be able to lay down and look up to perform duties
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years welding experience in a manufacturing environment is required
- Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
