Performs manufacturing engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for 3D Vision System as it relates to camera imaging, image processing, on-line mold conditions and conveyor speeds to produce saleable parts.
- Responsible for Automated Robotic Clip Automation systems as it relates to feeding equipment, pick and place systems, robots and placement accuracy.
- All employees are responsible for ensuring that they follow safe work practices when doing their assigned duties. All departments are to work together to maintain a safe and healthy workplace by identifying and removing potential workplace hazards, prevention of workplace accidents and injuries, and enhancing the quality of work life at Adient.
Specific Duties:
- Primary responsibility will be to support, maintain, program and troubleshoot component detection vision and robotic automation systems throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Maintain functionality of robots through coordination with maintenance and operations.
- Develop and maintain documentation on vision and robotic systems throughout the facility complying with industry standards.
- Responsible for developing new robot programs, troubleshooting and debugging robotic programs.
- Provide training as needed to line technicians as it relates to vision and robotics.
- Provide weekend and evening support as necessary to support 24/7 operations
- At times, provide support to other manufacturing systems and equipment (material handling, process equipment, etc.)
- Maintains a clean and organized (5S) work area to facilitate manufacturing functions.
- Must abide by all safety rules and policies and attend required training.
- Customer oriented with a sense of urgency
- Must be willing to participate and/or assist in safety/ergo activities and/or committees, safety Kaizen events, safety audits, safety problem solving, and safety observation feedback events.

Education Preferred:
- College Technical Degree preferred. Must possess a high school diploma. Three-year technical degree with emphasis on vision, robotics and automation preferred.
Experience Preferred:
- Minimum 3 years of experience with demonstrated success within the vision, robotics and automation fields.
- Fanuc Robot Programming - Material Handling, IRVision and IRPickTool applications etc.
- Vision System setup and programming including 2D and 3D applications.
- Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong team player who takes personal ownership for their areas of responsibility.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
- Ability to analyze, solve problems and implement robust solutions.
- Ability to collaboratively work with others.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Capable of executing project assignments with minimal supervision.
