As a Customer Development Manager for the Outbound Triggers team, you will be a part of a team with world-class professionals to develop, test and implement strategies that ultimately impact the bottom line. And you'll do it all in a collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibility, promotes continuous learning, and rewards innovation.

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, have strong relationship building skills, and be able to meet our customers at moments that matter to grow and retain their business. This person must have strong influence and client management skills, a consultative sales skill set, and must be able to work autonomously. This individual must also have strong written and verbal communication skills for over-the-phone and email communication.

General Responsibilities:

This dynamic leadership role will be responsible for achieving objectives for the organization while also recruiting, training, coaching and managing a team based in our Plano, Texas office. This person will provide day-to-day leadership of the team which includes:

  • Team's execution of outbound contact campaigns through a variety of channels and execute next steps to help meet the client's needs

  • Drive day-to-day leadership including coaching and managing a team of associates, providing direction for the team, managing overall performance of team, budgeting, expense management, etc.

  • Develop the team to become subject matter experts on the call campaigns to effectively communicate intent and drive action among customers

  • Coach the team to be well managed by leveraging the provided talking points and protocol

  • Manage and update the CRM system

  • Ongoing call listening and coaching with a feedback loop to partners

  • Work independently and seek out feedback and data to reflect on and improve the team's performance

  • Develop a winning culture that rewards and recognizes associates for their contributions and reinforces Capital One values

  • Develop strong relationships with our organization and foster a one team culture

An Ideal Candidate Possesses:

  • A strong interest in sales leadership and a desire to continue learning in a process based environment.

  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills.

  • Strong judgment, leadership and integrity: the candidate should be a tenacious decision maker, able to bring a responsible approach to business while in a leadership position guiding execution resources.

  • Clear results orientation: focused on achieving both short and long-term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment while overseeing multiple projects and programs concurrently.

  • Successful track record managing field teams, including recruiting, training, and coaching.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in field sales or external sales

  • At least 1 year of experience in people management or peer coaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a sales leadership role
