WHO YOU ARE
The
Food & Beverage Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel's food and beverage outlets, ensuring high-quality service, guest satisfaction, and smooth operation. This role includes managing staff, assisting in menu planning, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the dining areas. The Food & Beverage Supervisor works closely with the restaurant management team and kitchen staff to ensure the timely and efficient service of food and drinks, providing guests with an exceptional dining experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Supervise Staff: Lead and manage the front-line food and beverage team, including servers, bartenders, and host/hostesses. Ensure staff are properly trained, motivated, and following company policies and procedures.
- Guest Service: Provide excellent customer service by interacting with guests, addressing complaints, and ensuring a memorable dining experience. Ensure that food and beverage service meets the hotel's quality standards.
- Operations Management: Oversee daily operations of food and beverage outlets, including opening and closing procedures, managing reservations, and ensuring efficient service flow. Ensure that all staff are following the appropriate service standards.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and maintain stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies, ensuring that inventory is properly managed and that waste is minimized. Coordinate with the purchasing department to replenish stock as necessary.
- Menu Coordination: Work with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure menus are up-to-date, accurate, and consistent with hotel standards. Assist in the creation and modification of menu items and special promotions.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations are strictly adhered to. Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas, equipment, and dining areas to maintain cleanliness and safety.
- Staff Scheduling: Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for shifts, and that labor costs are in line with budget expectations.
- Financial Management: Assist in controlling labor costs, maintaining budgeted food and beverage costs, and implementing cost-saving measures. Handle cash and perform daily revenue reconciliations.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns in a timely and professional manner, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
- Training and Development: Train new employees on hotel policies, service standards, and food and beverage offerings. Conduct ongoing training for existing staff to maintain high levels of performance and product knowledge.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in food and beverage service, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Must be available to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Language: Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Additional languages are a plus.
