Duties and Responsibilities
- Data Entry and Filing including track and log all work orders, prepare vehicle work orders, enter data into maintenance system and file vehicle work orders into designated filing cabinets, 90 Day Inspection Sheets, Preventative Maintenance Inspection Sheets
- Upon receipt of work order or oral instructions for part order; contacts part vendor, orders parts and picks up parts at vendor location several times a day
- Part Ordering and Pick Up; Return cores and warranty parts
- Warranty tool replacement coordination for broken shop tools
- Truck Delivery and Pick Up with CDL Driver
- Coordinate the drop off and pick up company vehicles with managers and another employee at various locations
- Load and unload truck parts by hand and move said parts to designated work areas or storage areas on site
- Load and unload heavy truck parts with industrial equipment like forklifts, hoists, and lift gates on company vehicles and move said parts to designated work areas or storage areas on site
- Will work with heavy truck chemicals such as diesel, gasoline, propane, engine oil, coolant, hydraulic oil and related solvents
- Will work with corrosive chemicals such as caustic and sulfuric acids on occasion
- Assist Shipping and Receiving with emergency part runs for plant
- Assist New Construction with delivery and pick up of welders from Advance Welder Repair
- Assist mechanic's with heavy lifting and repairs that require another set of hands upon request
- Coordinate car wash for Officer vehicles
- Clean out Fuel Island Sumps and Alarms from yard wash down and rain
- Survey and address issues in garage related to OSHA and City requirements when the Manager is out of the office including: Cleaning Spills, Empty trash and oil traps, Store flammables, Dispose of used filters, aerosol cans, rags, and parts, Secure cutting and welding cylinder caps when not in use and Verify all guards and warning indicators are in place
- Department Safety Inspection
- Vehicle Registrations - make sure that all registrations are current.
- Apply vehicle registrations and decals onto company vehicles
- Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
- Follow department and company procedures
- Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
- Other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the business. These responsibilities may change from time to time are business needs evolve over time.
Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Maintain a valid Class C License and acceptable MVR
- Have experience with data entry and Microsoft Office software
- Be able to frequently lift 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 100lbs
- Be able to climb trucks and trailers
- Have vendor relation skills
- Have open availability Monday through Friday from 6am to 5pm
- Less than 5% travel requirement
Physical Demands/Requirements: Constantly (over 2/3):
- Operates computer and other office productivity machinery such as calculator, copy machine and printer.
- Remain in a stationary position for 50% or more of the time
- Review documents, organizes data and detects accuracy of information
- Communicates with customers and co-workers and exchanges accurate information in-person, telephonically and via electronic devices/e-mail
Frequently (1/3-2/3):
- Moves throughout office accessing files, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to move around industrial equipment in manufacturing facility and garage workshop
- Moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
- Move and transport materials up to 50-100 lbs with or without specialized lifting, moving and rigging equipment
- Drive to different locations to pick up or drop off parts or vehicles
Occasionally (under 1/3):
- Exposed to work in outdoor weather conditions
- Exposed to chemicals and fumes common in the use of commercial vehicles; must be able to properly protect self and others from exposure
- Remains in a seated position while using multilimb coordination to operate forklift or other mechanical equipment
- Ascends/descends equipment while maintaining balance
- Operates and uses maintenance/mechanic tools including electric hand tools
