Job Description: Baptist Health Medical Group Medical Assistant Orthopedic St. Matthews are Full Time/First Shift Eligible for $2000 SignOn Bonus Sign-on bonus is reserved for new hires meeting eligibility criteria. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages the coordination and flow of patients throughout the patients visit to create an exceptional patient experience. Proactively check the provider's schedule and review information within the patient record to ensure that all required information is available prior to their visit. Proactively obtains any missing information from the patient to ensure that medical records are accurate and up to date, which helps to ensure better care is being provided. Upon arrival, captures patient's vital signs, past medical, social and family history, medication usage and preferred pharmacy information. Ensures compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements including HIPAA/OSHA compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities based on Training and Certification Scope:
Able to perform EKG's, PFT's spirometry, nebulizer treatments and ear irrigations, and other procedures, as required by the practice and directed by the Physician/Provider
Able to perform in-office lab testing such as glucose testing, strep screens, pregnancy tests, urinalysis, and HgA1c as directed by the physician/provider.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency plus: Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information, plus. Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate to be received within 90 days, plus one of the following. Prior working experience in a medical office/clinic performing clinical MA duties. Upon hire these disciplines will be assessed for clinical competency and be required to successfully complete an MA orientation | externship as well as complete any additional training as required by the Provider.
