Overview

HOURLY RATE: (DEPENDING ON SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): $21.00 - $23.00

SCOPE: Supports the Revenue Cycle staff by assisting with assigned duties.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the charge unit by signing & mailing paper claims to Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal HMO payers.
  • Supports the charge unit by mailing secondary claims/printing required EOBs
  • Support the payment unit by scanning EOBs to the groupshare, copying any documents as needed (half sheets).
  • Supports the Admin building by sending/receiving and distributing inter office mail and Bomar courier
  • Supports the Revenue Cycle Department by sending/receiving/distributing interoffice mail, sorting and distributing correspondence to the AR follow up unit.
  • Supports the AR follow up unit by mailing corrected claims, as well as metering outgoing mail on a daily basis.
  • Supports the Revenue Cycle Department by assisting in large projects, such as printing of EOBs, year-end scanning of signed estimates for FC, maintain FC program spreadsheet, etc.
  • Various other tasks as needed.
  • Supports the Payment unit by opening daily mail and separating insurance & patient payment from correspondence.
  • Supports the Payment unit and Finance dept. by detaching insurance checks from EOB's and taking to Finance. (highlighting check # and Check amount on EOBs) and logging the checks onto a daily deposit spreadsheet for finance; walking checks over to finance
  • Supports the payment unit and Finance dept by writing patient check numbers on payment sub and circling paid amount. Taking to Finance.
  • Supports the Admin building by helping answer front door calls and walking up to open the door.
  • Supports the Admin building by stocking break room each day
  • Supports the payment unit by running insurance credit card payments and giving receipts along with EOB to payment team so they can settle at the end of the day.
  • Supports both Insurance Verification and Patient Advocate teams by date stamping, logging, and flagging accounts for returned mail

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision correctable to 20/20. Requires occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
