Plant Operator (Lab Technician)

Location:

In particular, you will:
* Performs cylinder analyses & ensures compliance government and company standards.
o Calculates to gas mixtures to meet requirements and documents results. Ensures that a mixture can be safely made.
o Selects cylinders and valve combinations to ensure compatibility with the mix and compliance.
o Performs analyses of gas mixtures to find discrepancies and compare with Airgas specifications.
o Operates control panels, containing valves and pressure gauges, and scales to accurately measure gas mixtures.

* Provides customers with the highest level of service by ensuring that all special product requests are met.
* Completes all necessary documentation to accurately record all production actions.
* Supports all safety standards in the production of cylinder gases including assisting with internal audits.
* Complies with company procedures and government regulations relating to the safe handling of hazardous materials.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* High school degree or GED required. Bachelor's degree in a Science, Chemistry or related degree field strongly preferred.
* A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience. In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system preferred
* Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
* Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of how to leverage metrics and related tools to improve production efficiency and effectiveness.
* Mechanical aptitude
* Demonstrated knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent.
* Will be required to move / transport materials weighing up to 60 pounds and move up to 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment which may require frequent bending, twisting and reaching motions.

* Requires both indoor & outdoor environments in various seasonal weather conditions. Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.
* Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and all related rules, regulations, procedures which are applicable to this position's responsibilities.
