PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for shop/service track operations, heavy repairs, and responding to main line outages. The ideal candidate would have a strong mechanical and electrical repair background on locomotives

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Plan daily work schedules and manage employees performing locomotive maintenance
• Set expectations and accountability to employees while in shop or on service island
• Instruct mechanics in all phases of locomotive repairs, and inspect quality of work performed by all crafts
• Provide safety briefings and support to mechanics on safety guidelines
• Supervise and lead work force groups along with multiple projects simultaneously

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma required
• Must be familiar with FRA Rules and Regulations and be able to prepare and accurately fill out all forms required for the operation of Diesel Locomotives
• Strong leadership and communication skills is an asset
• Strong understanding of LMS, MCS, ISM, Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office programs

Medical Requirements:
