Warner Robins, GA Job Summary
The Procurement Counselor, part of the GT APEX Accelerator unit within the Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute (EI2), offers training and counseling to Georgia businesses on identifying and pursuing contracting opportunities with the defense industrial base, other government agencies and prime contractors. Services include guidance on submitting bids and proposals, billing, and executing contracted work. This role involves regular interaction with business representatives and government officials at local, state, and federal levels, providing advice and counsel to business owners and managers. The location for this role will be in Warner Robins. Hybrid Working This position is hybrid: remote and onsite. Incumbent must reside in Georgia. The structure is mostly remote with some in-office requirements (on Georgia Tech campus). The primary office location in the Warner Robins area however, incumbent in this position may be expected to travel state-wide and remain flexible to on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client schedules and/or project requirements). Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Work Experience: Five to seven years of job-related experience. Preferred Applicant Background: This position requires an advanced working knowledge of government rules and regulations related to procurement. This position requires skills in written and verbal communication (public speaking and formal presentation/training). Incumbent must demonstrate skills in problem-solving, time management, contract management, and formal proposal development. Preferred Education: Certification by the Association of Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, National Contract Management Association, and/or National Institute for Governmental Purchasing. Travel: The primary office location can/may be in the Warner Robins area however, incumbent in this position may be expected to travel state-wide and remain flexible to on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client schedules and/or project requirements).
