Overview

The Greensboro design center is seeking full-time Engineering Technicians to join our Mobile Solutions team. In this role you will provide technician and engineering support, help with assembly, and assist with various tasks in a lab environment. We are seeking engineering talent with expertise in RF/microwave, RFIC design, and PA product development to meet rapidly increasing customer demand.

Job Responsibilities

  • Swapping SMD components on PCB with advanced solder iron under microscope
  • Soldering such as : wiring harnesses, assembly of modules, EVB Work, connector soldering and module encapsulation
  • Create SMD tuning kit for product prototype development
  • Run RF test benches to verify simulated performance using manual as well as highly automated test equipment
  • Tracking assembly yields and EVB Status
  • Ability to create/trouble shoot wire harness and Evaluation boards.
  • Create STC (Specification To Compliance) Files that define all required tests
  • Create / Modify GUTS (General Unified Test Solution) Programs that drive automated test solutions

Required Experience and Skills

  • Associate degree in EE Tech Program or equivalentwork experience
  • Basic knowledge of RF, electronics and ESD procedures
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments at once
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook

Desired Experience and Skills

  • Great organizational and bookkeeping skills
  • Familiar with measuring, tuning, optimizing RF and/or analog/mixed-signal IC's
  • Excellent communication, good troubleshooting skills, an eagerness to continually learn, a passion to win/contribute, ability to work in and thrive in a team environment
  • A strong understanding of RF fundamentals, analog design concepts, PA concepts, wireless knowledge, test equipment operation and test equipment automation.
  • Experience in soldering small components such as 01005 SMTs and EVB rework skills

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$21.06 -$36.30 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
