Job Purpose

The SAP Variant Configuration (VC) Engineering Data Analyst position involves support for several ongoing applications, data management and technical initiatives within the Motive Power Application Engineering department. The position requires an in-depth understanding of the impact of engineering data on manufacturing processes and SAP Variant Configuration. You will work closely with engineering, product development, and IT teams to ensure product configurations align with customer specifications and production requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: technical and operational duties, effectively communicating with cross-functional teams, engineering data analysis, SAP VC troubleshooting and testing, documentation, engineering support, SAP VC model development/maintenance, and user training and support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • The SAP Variant Configuration Engineering Data Analyst will interface and work closely with Design Engineering, Application Engineering, Sales and Manufacturing to sustain and improve SAP Variant Configuration.
  • Analyzing large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
  • Supporting the identification, designing and implementation of internal process improvements including re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, optimizing data delivery, and automating manual processes
  • Support SAP Variant Configuration development/maintenance and SAP Master data information
  • Troubleshooting SAP Variant Configuration issues
  • Understanding of E-BOM vs M-BOM, and how that works from PLM system to SAP system
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or BS Informational Technology or appropriate experience.
  • A strong working knowledge of or experience with Engineering and Manufacturing as it relates to Bill of Material structures and routings.
  • A strong working knowledge of or experience working with complex configurable products
  • 5 years of ERP or packages software experience.
  • 1-3 years of SAP Variant Configuration
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal communication and written skills
  • Knowledge/understanding of Power BI, WorkFlow Gen, SQL.
  • Advanced experience in Excel (pivot tables, macros, functions).
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently/remotely.
