The Corewell Health Wayne BirthingCenter serves ourfamilies with a 3-bed triage, elevenlabor/delivery/recovery rooms offering large showers, refrigerators, and individual blanket warmers. We also boast privateJacuzzi room, twoante partumrooms, twooperating rooms, and a 2-bed recovery room. The Birthing Center cares for low-riskpatients in a family centered environment. Our nurses are certified in External Fetal Monitoring and are also trained in Neonatal Resuscitation. Our goal is to assist the childbearing family with the support and skills they need on their journey through labor, childbirth, and early parenting. About Corewell Hospital Wayne In addition to our maternal services, we are recognized by the US News & World Report as a high-performing facility in congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and kidney failure. The hospital has been serving the community since 1957 and has a long-standing partnership with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to help oversee a variety of health and communicable disease concerns. This RN Manager will lead a high performing team of 50+ serving our community through labor, childbirth, and early parenting. Scope of work The RN Manager is an experienced leader responsible for managing assigned areas and services and supervising assigned patient care staff to promote the creation of a center of excellence for staff recruitment and retention and clinical and business outcomes. The Nurse Manager is responsible to ensure safe and effective delivery of patient care and clinical outcomes, compliance with regulatory, administrative, and clinical standards, and policies and procedures. The Nurse Manager serves as a chief retention and safety officer. He/she ensures that safety and quality standards are upheld by effective use of data and technology to make decisions and proactively mitigates unnecessary risks for his/her area of responsibility. The Nurse Manager creates and ensures a desirable, safe work environment that enables the organization to meet or exceed its mission and goals. He/she models the way to foster communication and collaboration with physicians, staff, patients, and other departments. Role specific competencies, responsibilities, roles, and functions are based on the Professional Practice Model. This position reports to the Director of Nursing or above. Qualifications
