Central Territory Headquarters LI

Job Objective:

Perform the daily financial activities of CFOT.

Essential Functions:

FINANCIAL SERVICES SUPPORT



  • Accounts receivable, including receipting all income, banking all income, recording all income related to World Services and Session Funds, and monthly bank reconciliation.
  • Accounts payable, including sorting bills for payment, batching invoices for payment, contacting vendors, and processing internal bills. Including processing Release of Funds documents for property projects when assigned.
  • Financial record keeping, including book allowance distribution, officer quarters - short life, officer children's school expenditures, uniform assistance, cadet tuition via Orbund account, and files.
  • Processing petty cash vouchers and reimbursements (including cadet grocery receipts).
  • Assist in preparing and distributing CFOT budgets as assigned.
  • Maintain the general income and subsidiary accounts.
  • Assist with the calculation and distribution for the Christmas season, Commissioning weekend, allowance, new lieutenant travel allowance, spring campaigns, and summer assignment.
  • Support the counting and receipting of income.


CLERICAL SUPPORT



  • Maintain gasoline/maintenance vehicle cards and pin numbers of drivers. Review related monthly billing and create analysis of transactions. Keep track of I-Pass distribution as well as keep vehicle list and online accounts up to date.
  • Complete and process credit applications.
  • Review and file CFOT requisitions.
  • Update direct deposit information with THQ for employees, officers, and cadets.
  • Create business welcome packets for incoming officers and update excel files.
  • Complete clerical tasks assigned by the Director of Business.
  • Cover front office breaks when necessary and assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education:



  • High School Diploma or equivalent with additional courses in bookkeeping or accounting.
  • Associate Degree in Accounting


Experience:



  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk.


Skills:



  • Must have accurate typing skills, with excellent skills in Word and Excel.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Self motivated, able to work independently with great attention to detail.
  • Operate a calculator with accuracy.
  • Excellent people skills to interact in a professional manner.
  • Acceptance of The Salvation Army mission, and strict adherence to The Salvation Army policy and procedures.
