MU TITLE: Programmer Analyst

LOCATION: 212 Whitten Hall- Columbia, MO

What You'll Do: As a Programmer Analyst at CARES, your role will be at the heart of our mission. Here's a glimpse of your responsibilities:

  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts across Missouri and the nation to develop in-house software applications and web-based tools that support a wide range of topics and objectives.
  • Web Focus: Work on supporting a variety of web-based applications supporting data visualization and reporting tool, but also tackle related programming tasks as needed.
  • Independent and Teamwork: While you may work independently, you'll often collaborate with other CARES staff to complete tasks for sponsored projects.
  • Cutting-Edge Technology: Get the opportunity to develop applications using WordPress with MySQL and SQL Server backends. Knowledge of Python, C#, JavaScript, PHP, HTML, and ESRI products is highly desirable.
  • Accessibility and Compliance: Play a key role in enhancing the accessibility of our software applications and web-based tools.

Key Responsibilities: As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Develop web-based tools and informational pages for specific projects.
  • Support web-based content management and evolve and maintain Web API and REST APIs.
  • Collaborate on data visualization projects.
  • Work with on- and off-campus collaborators to demonstrate and review project-related programming.
  • Report to CARES management staff.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • As with all positions, involvement with other duties and responsibilities may be expected to support the mission and purpose of MU Extension.

Shift

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must know electronic computer programming; electronic data processing equipment and its capabilities; principles and techniques of studying work processes for new or revised electronic computer applications; principles of designing methods of processing data; technical report writing: and application of algorithms and mathematical modeling.
  • Must have the ability to write complex programs and develop detailed program specifications; analyze data and situations, reason logically and creatively, identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in computer programming.
  • Three years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.
  • Applicable experience with Python, ESRI products, C#, JavaScript, PHP, and HTML.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $62,500 - $72,500 annual
