Transplant Coordinator Assistant

The Transplant Coordinator Assistant (TCA) provides remote administrative support to the transplant community, ensuring patient engagement and compliance with care plans. Acting as a vital link between patients and their medical care teams, the TCA helps facilitate communication, maintain accurate records, and promote continuity of care. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to supporting patients during a critical time in their healthcare journey.

As a TCA, you'll play a crucial part in supporting the transplant community by ensuring patients remain engaged and cared for during one of the most critical periods of their lives. Your work will help make a difference by fostering communication, resolving barriers to care, and keeping patients connected to their healthcare teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Engagement and Support:

  • Regularly contact patients on organ transplant waiting lists to check in and update their information.
  • Educate patients on care protocols and encourage active participation in their healthcare.
  • Ensure patients feel supported and maintain open lines of communication.

2. Administrative and Data Management:

  • Accurately retrieve and enter information into medical databases.
  • Communicate with medical providers to collect or verify patient records and resolve issues.

3. Collaboration and Documentation:

  • Work closely with nurses and medical teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Document all communications and updates thoroughly and professionally.
  • Follow detailed protocols and workflows for assigned tasks.

4. Technology and Communication:

  • Participate in virtual meetings and respond promptly to emails and assigned tasks.
  • Use Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and OneDrive, for daily operations.
  • Adapt to new software systems and databases as needed.

5. Training and Compliance:

  • Attend scheduled in-person training sessions in San Antonio, Texas.
  • Be available for supervisor home visits and additional training as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure all patient data is handled in a secure, private environment.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous administrative experience in healthcare is a plus but not required.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, and OneDrive.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage fluctuating workloads.
    • Self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to work independently.
    • Comfortable providing and receiving feedback to improve performance.
  • Environment: Access to a quiet, private workspace for handling sensitive patient information.
  • Availability: Flexible Monday-Friday schedule, with the ability to adapt to different time zones.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel to San Antonio, Texas, for mandatory training and meetings.

While we will consider all remote candidates, San Antonio Texas is a preferred location.
