Staff Research Associate Neurology Full Time 82347BR Job Summary The Research Assistant needed in laboratory working on the cellular mechanisms of neuromodulation using mouse models. The Research Assistant will perform multiple laboratory tasks such as mouse colony management, genotyping, lab supply ordering, histology, immunohistochemistry, stereotactic surgeries, and mouse behavioral assays. These tasks are to support the research of Dr. Bender and his trainees (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows). Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $26.00 - $31.04 (Hourly Rate). We employ a variety of electrophysiological, optical, and genetic techniques to probe information processing across neuronal compartments, from synaptic inputs onto dendritic spines, to the site of action potential initiation in the axon initial segment, to transmitter release in axonal boutons. This work is complemented by biophysical studies of single channels, compartmental modeling, and in vivo recordings and behavior. Required Qualifications
