Network Engineer

The Opportunity:

What if you could combine your hands-on technical experience, network engineering background, and cybersecurity knowledge to design and build secure systems for the customer? We're looking for an engineer who can create solutions for our customer that will stand up to even the most advanced Cyber threats.

As a Network engineer on our project, you'll provide Cybersecurity and network engineering services to support the client's mission. You'll work with a team of system, network, and infrastructure engineers to identify the right mix of tools and techniques to translate your customer's needs and future goals into a plan that will enable secure and effective solutions. We need to come up with the best solution, so you'll investigate new techniques, break free from the legacy model, and go where the industry is going. You'll help lead the team through a critical approach to network engineering, providing alternatives and customizing solutions, to maintain a balance of security and mission needs. You'll apply expertise in network engineering to requirements analysis and allocation, architecture analysis and design, technology assessment, and provide operational support, including tool testing in an operational environment and coordinating and resolving issues with other engineers and operational users.This is a chance to make a difference in the security of the IC. Your technical expertise will be vital as you help customers overcome their most difficult challenges by integrating secure practices. You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience with network engineering

  • Experience with internet networking and encryption protocols

  • Experience with using Content Delivery Networks, including how they interact with public services and websites

  • Experience with using Tor and configuring and maintaining Tor Onion Services

  • Experience in security environments and tools to protect websites and their visitors

  • Experience with analyzing system logs and network traffic, troubleshooting network and browser issues, communicating complex technical topic to non-technical individuals, and consulting with customers to determine present and future user requirements

  • Experience with defining, analyzing, tracking, and reviewing requirements

  • Knowledge of how browsers interact with websites and browser security environments

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with configuring Virtual Private Servers (VSPs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)

  • Experience with social media or commercial messaging applications

  • Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity and performance issues, working with network monitoring tools, and scripting in Python

  • Experience with formal testing

  • Experience with developing in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS web user interfaces

  • Experience with other web User Interface frameworks

  • Experience with teaching complex technical topics to others

  • Knowledge of mobile technologies and applications

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Engineering

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
