Position Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated candidate to join our commercial accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accounting of all physical gas commercial transactions, preparing related required financial disclosures, and compiling applicable reports and insights. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue recognition accounting principles and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Prepare and analyze monthly gas revenue accounting entries.
  • Perform deal reviews of complex transactions to assess proper accounting treatment.
  • Create dashboards and reports to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
  • Preparation of monthly account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Preparation of applicable reporting disclosures for 10Q/10Ks in accordance with GAAP
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize accounting processes and systems.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed.


Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial accounting or a similar role
  • CPA or oil and gas industry required.
  • Knowledge of industry software (Quorum, Endur) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient with data analytic tools (Data Bricks, PowerBi, Spotfire).
  • Competent SQL skills preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.


Remote work is being considered for this role excluding the following states: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, and Tennessee unless willing to relocate.


Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
