Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that the dispatching, scheduling of drivers and the maintenance of all routes is performed on a regular and timely basis.
- Review of route sheets for verification of service provided on daily basis.
- Report and rectify any discrepancies noted on route sheets, weight tickets, etc and report these to the procurement manager.
- Develop and implement (in conjunction with the Training and Safety Director) training programs for the route departments.
- Conduct formal safety educational meetings with the employees.
- Communicate all mechanical issues with the mechanic supervisor.
- Do driver ride along inspections as needed.
- Monthly DOT fleet inspection for department.
- Review all routes sheets for revisions and changes to the customer account information on a daily basis.
- Report and communicate all route exceptions to divisional management.
- Monitor information from vehicle tracking devices and report findings daily.
- Resolve all customer service problems and follow up.
- Review all driver DOT logs for compliance and accuracy. Compare vehicle tracking reports to time cards and resolve any discrepancies in accordance with company policy and applicable legal application.

Requirements Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Professional Certifications, Education, Experience and Travel Requirements
- High school diploma requires with 2 plus years of higher education
- Minimum five years supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of D.O.T. regulations and policies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word
- Must be able to receive emergency call-ins and dispatch the on call driver on weekends on a rotating basis
- Must have a valid driver's license, strongly preferred CDL class A
- Spanish fluency strongly preferred
- Less than 5% travel requirement
Physical Demands/Requirements Constantly (over 2/3):
- remains in a seated position while using arms, legs and observation to operate vehicle
- observes and monitors equipment
- ascends/descends in and out vehicle and on equipment
Frequently (1/3-2/3):
- communicates with co-workers, customers and supervisors
- moves, lifts, pushes and pulls equipment and material up to 60 lbs.
- walks, climbs, stoops, kneels, crouches, reaches and handles equipment to collect material
- operates electronic devices such as GPS equipment and phone/radio
Occasionally (under 1/3):
- exposed to outdoor weather conditions
- exposed to materials that occasionally require use of PPE such as gloves (protect from heat)
- moves across wet/slippery and uneven surfaces
- electronically and manually completes logs/reports
