Job Description:

The QC Scientist I/II/III performs the analysis on allergenic and client components, raw materials, intermediates, and finished products following written procedures, providing the data required to determine raw material, product disposition. In addition, this position demonstrates leadership, teamwork and technical expertise.

QC Scientist I:

  • Analyze raw materials, in-process, stability and final container products according to established procedures, and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Record and review data in accordance with GxP to meet regulatory requirements and provide information relevant to product disposition.
  • Perform studies to assess product or procedural problems under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Assist in other forms of troubleshooting/investigations as directed.
  • Prepare reports and assist with document revisions as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Maintain training compliance on all procedures.
  • Adhere to all aspects of plant safety programs and in keeping with GMP's or other regulations.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment in accordance with procedure.

QC Scientist II: In addition to above

  • Demonstrate proficiency in core analytical assays.
  • Participate in direct internal and/or external client interactions.
  • Perform special assignments as directed by the supervisor.

QC Scientist III: In addition to above

  • Demonstrate QC leadership within the department and outside the department as needed.
  • Demonstrate technical expertise and assist in training exercises.
  • Suggest pathways for improvement of processes and procedures, and suggest resolution on issues such as unexpected results.

Qualifications:

QC Scientist I:

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, or related hard science OR AA degree in hard sciences with 2 years of solid lab experience
  • No experience required with BS degree. Lab experience desired with BS degree.
  • Lab experience required with AA degree.
  • Pharmaceutical experience desired.
  • Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel experience
  • Manual Dexterity
  • Must demonstrate initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of chemistry, statistics, computer-assisted data processing, and good manufacturing practices desirable

QC Scientist II: in addition to above

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology or related hard science OR AA degree in hard sciences with 3 years of solid lab experience
  • 1-year lab experience required with BS degree.
  • 3 years' lab experience required with AA degree.
  • Pharmaceutical experience desired

QC Scientist III: in addition to above

  • Bachelors of Science in Chemistry, Biology or related hard science.
  • 3 years lab experience required
  • 3 years pharmaceutical experience desired
  • Must be self-motivated with good communication and human relation skills, and must be able to effectively schedule, prioritize, and organize their time.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in a team setting supporting project teams as a Quality Unit representative.

Shift: Monday - Friday Days

Compensation & Benefits:

This is an on-site, full-time position located in Spokane, WA.

  • Hiring Wage depending on experience, with opportunity for growth, promotion and annual raises. See full list of benefits below for our complete compensation package.
    • QC Scientist I: $27.01 - $36.53 an hour.
    • QC Scientist II: $30.00 - $40.59 an hour.
    • QC Scientist III: $67,725 - $101,200 annually

Midpoint and above is reserved for employees who have longevity with Jubilant HollisterStier and consistently exhibit outstanding performance over a period of time in the role
