Job Title: Commercial Door Installation Technician
Department: Operations
Position Summary:

The technician will perform the installation of a variety of commercial products, including overhead doors, dock equipment, hinges, operators, and related hardware. This position involves traveling to job sites to ensure proper installation and setup, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety throughout each project.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and evaluate the installation needs for each job, ensuring the correct materials and tools are available before work begins.
  • Collaborate with project managers, building owners, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders to coordinate work and communicate progress.
  • Verify job sites are prepared for installation, ensuring openings are appropriately sized and areas are clear for safe working conditions.
  • Document job details, required alterations, and any changes to the original scope of work.
  • Perform installation tasks, including the setup of commercial doors, operators, and associated hardware.
  • Complete any necessary adjustments or framing work required for the proper installation of doors and dock equipment.
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and available for each job.
  • Follow safety protocols, conducting daily safety meetings and keeping relevant parties informed of any delays, safety concerns, or issues encountered.
  • Keep track of inventory and tools within the vehicle to ensure sufficient stock for upcoming jobs.
  • Review basic construction drawings and floor plans to assist with installation planning.
Skills/Experience Required:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in commercial installation, construction, or a similar field.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with a variety of customers and team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, safety guidelines, maintenance instructions, and other technical documents.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate measurements and dimensions.
  • Proficient in using a tape measure and converting measurements.
  • Ability to work with various tools and equipment safely.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUI violations and fewer than three points).
  • Basic understanding of wiring diagrams is preferred.
Physical/Work Environment Requirements:
  • Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting.
  • Ability to work from ladders and aerial lifts at different heights.
  • Fluent in English with clear communication skills.
Minimum Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;

The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
