Job Summary:
This position will provide assistance with production related processes. It is a combination of the following jobs: Parts Identifier, General Helper, and Shop Control Clerk (Shop Assistant).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Will collect Plans (dispatch) from supervisor.
- Will record schedule, time allowed for set up, quantity, and rates on the Visual Management Boards (VMB).
- Will grade and collect data from the VMB and record.
- Will accurately perform identification operations on all product lines, assemblies and sub-assemblies by following blueprint and production planning specifications.
- Will assist other production team members with duties such as needed; such as holding material or parts in jigs and/or fixtures, supplying workers with tools, parts and materials per planning, and returning items to proper storage areas.
- Will maintain proper housekeeping standards in various areas.
- Will receive, verify, count and log all issues from Stores.
- Will acquire tooling needed per planning and order from tool storage, deliver tooling and parts to department specified on planning.
- Maintain tool clean and orderly tool crib area.
- Prepare/install flange caps for issues at inspection department that are ready to ship and deliver to shipping.
- Must be accurate with the use of numbers.
- Record all trace ability information of material used and log on shop travelers.
- Responsible for assisting the department in the development of techniques to increase productivity, quality, and throughput of products and to share job knowledge in the department.
- Will maintain work area and equipment in a clean, orderly, FOD-free fashion and adhere to all Safety standards.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; previous manufacturing experience may be substituted for education requirement.
- *Employees must bid into these classifications before progression is allowed to higher levels.

- Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders and production planning documents.
- Ability to use standard manufacturing measuring instruments as necessary to perform job functions.
- Must be capable of working with tight tolerances such as + or - .001".
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to perform quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
- Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to perform routine work and understand basic planning instructions.
