Overview

We are seeking a CT Technologist (Days), sometimes referred to as a Radiologic Technologist II (Rad Tech) at Southern Regional Medical Center (Riverdale, GA) a member of Prime Healthcare. As a CT Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient's internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care.

Bonus Options: up to $20,000 (paid as stipends every 90 days)

Employment Type: Full Time - No Weekends

Shifts Available: Days (Tuesday - Friday)

Responsibilities

** If you have your ARRT-R (X-ray) but have not got your CT modality you are encouraged to apply if you understand CT Registry and willing to get your CT certification through ARRT-R within 6 months of hire. We are willing to train the right person looking to get into CT. **

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the Computer Tomography (CT) table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, address any concerns or questions they may have
  • operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
  • monitor our patients, as a CT Technologist ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure
  • assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced by the CT exam you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
  • accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners / X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images
  • responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene
  • participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Quality Control (QC) activities and assist in maintaining Performance Improvement Programs (PIP)
  • maintain your Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) and maintain your register status for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)


Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

  • Graduate of a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) CT or willing to obtain your CT certification within 6 months of hire
  • Radiology license as required by State (ARRT-R / R.T)
  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) accredited through AHA or obtain within 30 days of hire

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understand Computer Tomography (CT) Registry
  • Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic equipment, anatomy, and medical terminology
  • Proficient computer skills

It will be great if you also happen to have these qualifications but not required:

  • One year of radiology experience, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting
