PURPOSE & PRIMARY FUNCTIONS

Under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse, this position performs a variety of patient care activities to meet the personal needs and comfort of patients. Responsible to the Nurse Director and/or designee of the patient care unit to which he/she is assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure/Certification/ Registration:

  • Current Basic Life Support Certificationcan be completed during the first 30 days of employment
  • Suicide Prevention and De-escalation learning modules, as well as Constant Observer Training must be completed if a PCA I will be working as a Patient Observer in the Medical/Surgical area for Suicide Risk patient.Must be completed during the first 90 days of employment.
  • Successful completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred
