Position Summary

Installs, configures, maintains and performs testing of various operating systems, related utilities, applications, and hardware. Troubleshoots server-based hardware, operating system and software problems. Monitors systems activities and fine-tunes configuration to optimize performance. Performs system utilization analysis to ensure systems are following best practices for security and utilization. Develops procedures for routine administration. Provides recommendations for improving the server environment. Provides afterhours and weekend support based on project need.

PG&E is providing the hourly rate range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual hourly rate paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity.Although we estimatethe successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decisionwill be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $50.48 to $81.25.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads deployment of new applications, application updates, security, updates/patches, and report creation
  • Leads installation, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and production release of new enterprise applications.
  • May serve as a technical coach, trainer, or mentor for others.
  • Mentors team members supporting enterprise computing technologies, work priorities, project management, and customer service.
  • Perform complex server troubleshooting, updating, maintaining security compliance, client data protection services, and document creation
  • Performs assigned tasks of moderate to high complexity using established procedures, standards, and guidelines
  • Quickly understands the business issues of the organization. Reviews and edits requirements, specifications, and recommendations.
  • Scripts complex procedures and processes for automation.
  • Understanding business domain and makes realistic, feasible recommendations and facilitates implementation of effective solutions
  • Works independently or on multiple projects as a project team member, frequently collaborating with other groups
  • Works on medium to large, complex projects that require increased skill in multiple technical environments and knowledge of a specific business area

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Associates Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • 4 years job-related technical experience

Desired:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Utility industry experience
  • Leadership experience, IT-Information Technology, 2 years
