What You Can Expect Our Electrical and Instrumentation Technician II, located on the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA. will be responsible for maintenance and installation of plant and distribution electronics and instrumentation. We operate the power plants, steam, chilled water and drinking water plants on campus and at the Oakdale satellite location. This Technician will also be working with metering communications and controls systems including network administration and security. No two days are the same in this role. The only thing that is assured is that we are going to start the day focused on safety. We will be lining out the day's work, safety procedures as required by OSHA and company policy and making sure that we have the materials to complete the scheduled tasks safely and efficiently. Skills like reading diagrams and schematics and drawings of utility systems are used daily. We also troubleshoot and design and implement Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) both electrically and through software and firmware configurations. You will also recommend updates and system improvements for a variety of internal groups.

The position consists of 85% work indoors and 15% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions Compensation Salary Range: $$32.78 - $48.76 USD hourly This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
