Reuters is looking for an experienced, proactive and dynamic journalist to help deliver best in class training to the newsroom. You will be part of a globallearningteam responsible for designing and delivering virtual and in-persontrainingwhich drives and supports the ambition of our newsroom and helps us attract and retain the world's best, diverse talent.

The position is based in New York, but we are open to applications from other locations in the Americas.

The successful candidate will help anticipate and identify where we face the most pressing talent challenges and implement fresh training approaches to address them.

They will have a strong track record of journalistic accomplishment, be grounded in our news file, and ensure we are delivering relevant and impactfullearningopportunities and support to our journalists.

TheLearning Editorwill think strategically and creatively about training formats - from workshops, masterclasses and webinars to on-the-job learning initiatives - and be confident in organizing, facilitating or delivering them across a broad range of topics to ensure our journalism is meeting the highest standards.

About the Role

As our LearningEditor you will:

  • Work closely with other members of the Global Learningteam to design, deliver and coordinate learningprograms in consultation with the Global Learning Editor, the Global Managing Editor, Newsroom, and other senior editors.
  • Work with newsroom leaders to help meet editorial and business objectives, on everything from using AI, speed and text/visuals coordination to digital skills and newsroom leadership.
  • Proactively help anticipate and identify where our most pressing trainingneeds are and suggest innovative approaches to addressing them.
  • Produce relevant learningmaterials in a range of forms - tipsheets, trainer packs, coverage drills, writing exercises, demo videos, elearning modules etc.
  • Deliver interactive editorial trainingin real or virtual classrooms.

About You

To be a LearningEditor, you are likely to have:

  • Extensive newsroom experience
  • Deep knowledge of our editorial systems or the willingness to learn them
  • An understanding of AI and its potential in the newsroom
  • Great news judgment and facility with story-telling across multiple formats
  • A strong understanding of our client needs
  • Exceptional people and organizational skills, including the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $140,100 - $260,300. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
