Job Summary BASIC FUNCTION
HCSC is looking for a dynamic individual to join its Legal Department! Under supervision, this position will report up through the Legal Operations department and be part of a six-person administrative support team. Responsibilities include performing administrative duties (extensive calendaring, heavy travel, expense reporting, etc.) and legal support to legal teams consisting of 8-10 attorneys. This includes work of a complex and confidential nature for a Vice President or Divisional Senior Vice President in research and resolution activities; performs specialized and confidential duties which often require independent judgment; prepares routine to moderately complex documents. Additional responsibilities include supporting Legal Operations initiatives that involve technology support, work activity tracking, working with O365 tools such as Teams, SharePoint, and Excel and providing general meeting and office support.

NOTE: this role is hybrid/flex and requires in-office attendance 3 days per week, working from home 2 days; relocation will NOT be extended, sponsorship is NOT available ~

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of college with 2 years' experience as a legal assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department OR 4 years' experience as a legal assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Excellent verbal, written and organizational communication skills.
  • Strong PC proficiency to include O365, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams (heavy calendaring/Sharepoint) - contract agreements - regulatory/government legal team tracking
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Notary Public and Paralegal certification from an accredited program or combination of education and experience.
  • Insurance industry experience.
  • Corporate Law experience.
