Laborer/Refinery

Position Summary:

Laborer is responsible for cleaning process areas and providing general labor to ensure the efficiency of the operations department. Responsible for producing quality product per production schedule with working knowledge of production equipment and operating safely within established guidelines.

Core Functions:

  • General cleaning of the process and finishing equipment as well as the buildings and grounds.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of production lines and tank farms
  • Transport various items throughout the plant with a forklift.
  • The operation and maintenance of the hot water pressure washer.
  • Cleaning/flushing the plant sewer system.
  • Perform all assignments satisfactorily, safely, and maintain good attendance
  • Ability to have delegated tasks changed throughout the shift as needed.
  • Ability to work OT as needed.
  • Fork Truck Operation
  • Other duties as assigned

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent are preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Preferred but not required - completion of the Petrochemical Class at JJC or relative years' experience.
  • Basic Math Skills

Additional Notes:

  • Must be able to work in the outside environment throughout the year.
  • Must be able to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and comfortable working at heights.
  • Must be self-directed and able to work alone.
  • Ability to change jobs due to operation fluctuations.

Other Notes:

  • This is an hourly/union position
  • Must work every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.
  • 12 Hour Shift, 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am
  • $21.84
